It would be interesting to see how the sites on the island have changed from one search to the next, and how different people interpret the same thing. <br />Prior to the discovery of the Erebus, there were "Erebus and Terror" searches...so now if one looks for "only" the Terror, is it half a search? (sorry, just being facetious)<br />I have often thought of standing at various points on that island and letting the mind drink it all in. That however, would be more a pilgrimage than a search. <br />Amazing that so many people have done all those searches. A testament to the magnetism of this story.<br />I wonder if the expedition was "missing" as of 1849 (and I like your argument for that) when did the crew members think of themselves as "lost"?
