I must admit the "new" image does make him look older. To my eye, it could almost be a completely different person.<br />The quote from the letter is great too. It brought to mind an interesting thought: since we know the expedition carried cameras, and if this "new" image had been found stashed somewhere in a cairn, we would automatically assume Fairholme had rec'd a promotion to commander. Without further context, this would seem logical.......who would have thought he might have just borrowed a jacket for the picture???
